Introduction to HFC-227ea system
a. Basic requirements
(I) According to the GB25972-2010 "Gas Fire Extinguishing System and Components" standard, the basic requirements of HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system are as follows:
1. Working temperature range: 0℃~+50℃
2. Filling density/pressure: Maximum filling density of internal pressure storage type HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system: 1120kg/m³ at 2.5MPa storage pressure 950kg/m³ at 4.2MPa storage pressure (welded structure storage container) 1120kg/m³ at 4.2MPa storage pressure (seamless structure storage container) 1080kg/m³ at 5.6MPa storage pressure
3. Maximum injection time of the system: 10s
4. Fire extinguishing agent release time: Under the maximum filling density or filling pressure, the time for the fire extinguishing agent to be ejected from the container valve should not be greater than 80% of the maximum system ejection time.
b. Internal structure
The internal pressure storage type HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system should at least consist of a fire extinguishing agent bottle group, a driving gas bottle group, a one-way valve, a selection valve (applicable to a combined distribution system), a driving device, a manifold, a connecting pipe, a nozzle, a signal feedback device, a safety release device, a control panel, a leak detection device, a low-leakage high-sealing valve (applicable to a system with a driving gas bottle group), pipelines and fittings, etc.

(I) Requirements
1. All components of the unified system should be firmly fixed, reliably connected, correctly installed, and reasonably laid out for easy operation, inspection, and maintenance.
2. The specifications of components with the same function in the system should be consistent (except for selector valves and nozzles). The volume, filling density, or filling pressure of each fire extinguishing agent storage container should be consistent.
c. Startup method
The pipe network type HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system has three startup methods, namely automatic startup, electrical manual startup, and mechanical emergency manual startup.
(I) Automatic start state
The gas fire alarm controller is generally equipped with two different types of fire detectors. The control host has "automatic" and "manual" conversion functions (a conversion switch can also be set separately outside the protection zone). When it is placed in the "automatic" position, the fire extinguishing system is in automatic state.
When only one detector sends a fire signal, the control host starts the indoor sound and light alarm to notify the fire, but does not start the fire extinguishing device.
When two detectors send a fire signal, the control host starts the indoor and outdoor sound and light alarms, closes the protection zone opening in linkage, and enters the fire extinguishing start delay. After reaching the set delay time, the fire extinguishing device is automatically started, a fire extinguishing command is issued, and the solenoid valve is opened to release the gas cylinder gas. The gas cylinder gas opens the fire extinguishing agent container valve through the start pipeline to release the fire extinguishing agent and implement the fire extinguishing.
If it is found that the fire extinguishing device does not need to be started during the spraying delay process, the "emergency stop" button outside the protection zone or on the controller can be pressed to terminate the fire extinguishing command, which is valid within the set delay time.
The automatic start delay time of the system can be continuously adjusted in the range of 0~30s. When it is adjustable in stages, the interval between each stage should not be greater than 10s, and the delay time setting error should not be greater than 20% of the set time.
(II) Manual start of electrical appliances
When the switch is in the "manual" position, the fire extinguishing system is in manual state. In this state, the detector sends a fire signal, and the control host starts the indoor and outdoor sound and light alarms to notify the fire, but does not start the fire extinguishing system. At this time, press the "emergency start" button outside the protection zone or on the controller to start the fire extinguishing system, start the fire extinguishing system to release the fire extinguishing agent, and implement fire extinguishing.
Note: Regardless of whether the control host is in automatic or manual state, the fire extinguishing system can be started by pressing the "emergency start" button.
(III) Mechanical emergency manual start
When the fire alarm control system fails, when both automatic and manual start fail, when the on-duty personnel determine that it is a fire, they should immediately notify all personnel on the scene to evacuate the scene. After confirming that all personnel have evacuated the scene, the mechanical emergency operation can be implemented according to the following steps:
1) Manually close the linkage equipment and cut off the power supply;
2) Pull out the "mechanical emergency start safety pin" on the electromagnetic driver of the starter bottle in the corresponding protection zone, press the mechanical emergency start button, and the electromagnetic driver opens the starter bottle to release the starter gas and start the gas fire extinguishing system.
Note: After the installation of the HFC-227ea gas fire extinguishing system, although the user does not need to have a professional understanding of it, its working mode still needs to be trained by a dedicated person before taking up the post, which is a guarantee for the personal and property safety of the user.
