Application scope, precautions and reasons why the heptafluoropropane system cannot extinguish fire

1. Scope of application

Applicable to the following places: museums, libraries, data rooms, archives warehouses, etc.

2. Precautions for daily use

(i) Trained personnel shall conduct daily appearance and pressure display value inspections of the entire system to check whether there are any abnormalities in the system.

(ii) All components shall be inspected monthly. All components shall be free of collision deformation and other mechanical damage, the surface shall be free of rust, the protective coating shall be intact, the nameplate shall be clear, and the lead seal and safety mark of the manual operating device shall be complete.

(iii) The fire extinguishing agent storage container shall be weighed and inspected once a year. If the weight drops by more than 5%, the storage cylinder must be refilled or replaced.

(iv) The HFC-227ea cylinder shall be inspected every three years, and the fire extinguishing agent storage container and container valve shall be tested for strength and sealing performance every five years.

(v) The heptafluoropropane cylinders shall be tested every three years, and the fire extinguishing agent storage containers and container valves shall be tested for strength and sealing performance every five years. Only after passing the test can they continue to be used.

3. Reasons why the HFC-227ea fire extinguishing device does not spray

(i) The fire alarm host is in manual mode

The HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system has three ways to start: automatic start, electrical manual start, and mechanical emergency manual start. In the electrical manual start mode, the fire detection system can only detect and alarm the protection area, and cannot start the fire extinguishing device by itself. It is necessary to manually press the start button on the fire alarm controller panel or the emergency start-stop button outside the protection area door. The fire alarm controller receives the start command and starts the fire extinguishing device according to the predetermined procedure.

(ii) The solenoid valve is not installed correctly or the safety pin

The electromagnetic drive device is installed on the container valve. When extinguishing the fire, the electromagnet breaks through the working diaphragm on the container valve when it is actuated, so that the fire extinguishing agent is released. If it is not installed correctly, the fire extinguishing agent cannot be released, resulting in fire extinguishing failure.

(iii) Insufficient starting power

When a fire occurs, the fire extinguishing device allocates insufficient power, resulting in the inability to drive the solenoid valve, the electromagnet cannot act, and the working diaphragm on the container valve cannot be broken. As a result, HFC-227ea cannot be started, or partially cannot be started. The HFC-227ea fire extinguishing system does not comply with the regulations.

(IV) Heptafluoropropane agent leaked, and the amount of agent did not reach the amount required for fire extinguishing, resulting in fire extinguishing failure.

(V) Other reasons

For example, the selector valve was out of repair for a long time, resulting in insensitive action and inability to effectively spray heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing agent. Or the equipment pressure was abnormal, resulting in the inability to release the fire extinguishing agent normally.
